Doctors suspend chemo as Andrew Kishore’s health condition deteriorated

Popular cine music star and singer Andrew Kishore’s physical condition has further been deteriorated. Considering his feeble health condition, doctors suspended his scheduled fifth stage chemo therapy.

He was supposed to return back to the country in February after completion of his treatment at Singapore General Hospital. Now, it is uncertain due to the deferment of his chemo.

Andrew left Dhaka for Singapore on September 9 along with his wife and his musician friend Jahangir Sayeed.

Due to his kidney disease and hormonal problems, he was suffering from constant fever and weight loss. Local physicians were examining him and some samples were sent to lab for biopsy. In the report the doctors found him cancer positive.

This famous singer of Bangladesh is suffering from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. He left for Singapore on 9 September and on 18 September he was diagnosed to have Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He is undergoing treatment at the Singapore hospital.

At the outset, it was said that he would have to undergo 24 chemotherapy sessions in 6 phases and so far 17 have been completed in 4 phases. Preparations were on for 24 chemos in the fifth phase, but it has not been possible to start this. His body is not strong enough to undergo chemotherapy.

Prime minster Shiekh Hasina invited Andrew at Ganabhaban in Dhaka on September 8 before he left for Singapore. Sheikh Hasina inquired about his physical condition and gave him a cheque of TK 10 lakh for his treatment.

A private TV channel authority has also donated TK 10 lakh to Andrew. The authority denied revealing the name saying it’s their turn to give something to the music legend.
