The Department of Physics at Rutgers University – Camden invites applicants for an accelerated tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor in the area of computational biophysics, starting September 1, 2022. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics, or other closely related fields. Given the accelerated nature of the position, candidates should be proven leaders in their field, with an excellent track record in terms of teaching, research, funding, service, and mentorship.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish an independent research program, comprised of undergraduate and graduate students, in the area of computational biophysics that will attract external funding. They are also expected to teach physics courses at the undergraduate-level and graduate courses within the Center of Computational and Integrative Biology (CCIB). The Department of Physics at Rutgers-Camden is an undergraduate only program while CCIB grants both masters and doctoral degrees. While the appointment is within Department of Physics, the successful candidate is expected to also become a member of the CCIB graduate faculty.
