A photo of an upside-down American flag flying at the home of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito in 2020 drew criticism from Democrats. Alito confirmed the photo, which was published by The New York Times, and told The Times it was placed by his wife in response to a neighbor’s objectionable language on yard signs.
