Convicted war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayeedi passed away on Monday night. He was 83.

Dhaka Central Jail Jailer Mahbubul Islam confirmed the matter. Reports UNB

He was undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami expressed grief over the death of their leader.

The party said in a Facebook post, “Allama Delawar Hossain Sayeedi, one of the leaders of the world Islamic movement, an internationally renowned scholar and author of many books, passed away at 8:40 pm today at PG Hospital in Dhaka.”
