After Shah Rukh Khan offered a dua for Lata Mangeshkar, he removed his mask to blow air, a practice which is followed by Muslims to ward off evils. Ill-informed netizens deemed this as spitting and started trolling the actor. However, several social media users clarified Shah Rukh Khan’s gesture and hailed the actor. SRK also placed a wreath and touched didi’s feet and then circumambulated Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains.
Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, after nearly a month of hospitalization. The 92-year-old singer was cremated with full state honours, in the presence of several dignitaries, celebrities and a sea of fans. The Government of India also announced two days of State mourning as a mark of respect to the legend.
