Former Australia batter Michelle Goszko suffers stroke

Former team-mate Lisa Sthalekar revealed the 44-year-old’s condition during the Seven Network’s broadcast of the WBBL match between the Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers on Saturday.
“A big shout-out to Michelle Goszko,” Sthalekar said. “She is in ICU. She is talking a little bit and she’s improving slowly. The cricket community is certainly behind you Gozzy.”
Shortly before the Heat began the second innings of the match, current Test star Alyssa Healy also sent her regards to Goszko and her family.
On Sunday, Goszko posted a message on Instagram. “Hi all thank you all soo much for the love and support I really do appreciate. It’s kept me going and staying strong,” she wrote.
A right-handed batter and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler, Goszko played four Tests for Australia between 2001 and 2006.
