Vietnam War Pen Pals Meet 50 Years Later

In 1971, Kathleen Ryan’s fourth-grade class sent Christmas cards to U.S. military fighting in Vietnam. Ten-year-old Kathleen received a letter back from 20-year-old army specialist Dominic Cutalo saying it was a wonderful gift. Kathleen treasured the note for 51 years, wondering if Dominic ever made it back from the war until last month when she found out Dominic would be at a veteran’s event near her home.
