The Center for High Energy Physics (CHEP) in Kyungpook National University, Daegu, Korea, has a total of three openings for two types (research professor and postdoctoral research associate) of positions in the research areas of experimental high energy physics or experimental astroparticle physics. The exact number of employment in each type of position will be determined by the selection committee after its review of all applications.
The CHEP is involved in various high energy and astroparticle physics experiments including collider experiments (CMS and Belle), underground experiments (COSINE and AMoRE), and space experiment (ISS-CREAM). Also the CHEP has been one of the pioneer institutes in the development of scintillators and the precision characterization of photo-sensors for particle and radiation physics applications as well as various
interdisciplinary applications.
The starting date of the positions is September 1, 2022. The employment duration of the positions is initially two years, and can be extended to a maximum of two additional years depending on mutual satisfaction. The annual salaries for the research professor and postdoctoral research associate positions are 45 and 36 million Korean Wons, respectively. In addition, all positions will be given an annual research grant of about 5 million Korean Wons from the CHEP. Everyone who will be employed in the positions is strongly encouraged to apply for the national research funding to carry out an independent research within the research scope of the CHEP.

(2) the certificate of Ph. D. degree (or one that proves the candidate will receive a Ph. D. degree by the end of August, 2022) in physics or a closely related field
(3) the publication list (maximum of 5 representative publications which are SCI/SCIE/SCOPUS journal papers published or patents granted in the past three years. Single-, first-, corresponding-, or co-author must be indicated for each journal publication while single- or co-inventor must be indicated for each patent)
(4) the statement of research interest (which must include a clear statement of which type of position the candidate applies to)
(5) two letters of reference (which must be sent to maybe02@knu.ac.kr directly by the
referees)
Preference will be given to the candidates who have prior experience in detector development and have strong publication records.
