নারায়ণগঞ্জের আড়াইহাজারে উপজেলা ও দুইটি পৌরসভায় বিএনপির ত্যাগী নেতাদের বঞ্চিত ও সাংগঠনিক নিয়মনীতি উপেক্ষা করে কমিটি গঠন করায় উপজেলা বিএনপির যুগ্ম সম্পাদকসহ নয়জন নেতা একসঙ্গে পদত্যাগ করেছেন।
বুধবার (৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি) দুপুরে আড়াইহাজার উপজেলা, আড়াইহাজার পৌরসভা ও গোপালদী পৌরসভা বিএনপির যৌথ ব্যানারে সংবাদ সম্মেলনে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে পদত্যাগের ঘোষণা দেন এই নয় নেতা।
পদত্যাগ করা নেতারা হলেন আড়াইহাজার উপজেলা বিএনপির যুগ্ম আহবায়ক হাবিবুর রহমান হাবু, সদস্য ছানাউল্লাহ মোল্লা, আনোয়ার হোসেন, আড়াইহাজার পৌরসভার আহ্বায়ক কমিটির যুগ্ম আহ্বায়ক আবদুল্লাহ আনোয়ার শামীম, সদস্য আলী আজগর, মাছুমা বেগম, গোপালদী পৌরসভার আহবায়ক কমিটির তিন যুগ্ম আহ্বায়ক অ্যাডভোকেট মোশাররফ হোসেন, অ্যাডভোকেট আবদুল বাছেদ ও বাবুল হোসেন।
আর্থিক সুবিধা নিয়ে এই তিনটি পকেট কমিটি অনুমোদন দেওয়ার অভিযোগ তুলে বিএনপির কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সহ-আন্তর্জাতিক বিষয়ক সম্পাদক নজরুল ইসলাম আজাদ ও জেলা বিএনপির সদস্য সচিব মামুন মাহমুদের প্রতি ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করেন পদত্যাগকারী এই নেতারা।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তারা বলেন, বিএনপির ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানের নির্দেশ অমান্য করে নজরুল ইসলাম আজাদ ও মামুন মাহমুদ মিলে আর্থিক সুবিধা নিয়ে অসাংগঠনিকভাবে আড়াইহাজার উপজেলা, আড়াইহাজার পৌরসভা ও গোপালদী পৌরসভার তিনটি বিতর্কিত কমিটি গঠন করে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদগুলো বিক্রি করেছেন। তাদের নিজেদের মনগড়া কমিটিতে দলের কোন ত্যাগী নেতাকে স্থান দেওয়া হয়নি।
