Jamuna Group chief Nurul Islam Babul dies at the age of 74

Dhaka – Leading industrialist Nurul Islam Babul has been died at the age of 74, his company officials said on Monday.
Babul, chairman of business conglomerate Jamuna Group, had been suffering from novel coronavirus. He breathed his last at the Evercare Hospital in Dhaka in the afternoon
He had also been suffering from kidney problems.
A veteran freedom fighter during Bangladesh’s 1971 liberation war, Babul will be buried at Banani graveyard in Dhaka on Tuesday.
He left behind his wife Salma Islam, MP, son Shamim Islam three daughters — Rozalin Islam, Monika Islam and Soniya Islam; and a host of relatives and well-wishers to remember him.
Babul also own Bangla daily Jugantor and private broadcasting house Jamuna Television.
He had been undergoing treatment since diagnosed with the virus on June 14.
Top leaders of major political parties have expressed shock at the death of the businessman. He will be buried at Banani graveyard on Tuesday.
