DRU new president Mithu, secretary Hasib

The Dhaka Reporters Unity has elected Nazrul Islam Mithu and Nurul Islam Hasib as its president and general secretary respectively.

Mithu bagged 449 votes while his near rival Riaz Chowdhury 304 in DRU election held on Tuesday.

Besides, the organization elected Osman Gani Babul as its vice president, Shahnaz Sharmin joint secretary, SMA Kalam finance secretary, and Abdullah Kafi organizing secretary.

After counting the votes, Election Commission chairman Riaz Uddin Ahmed announced the results this evening.
