Two brothers killed during fishing
Police have recovered the bodies of two brothers from No Man’s Land on the India border at Guthumar in Feni’s Parashuram municipality. The bodies were rescued on Sunday morning.
Police and locals said, in the morning, Guthumar Kharijkona area’s Kaladhan Sarkar’s two sons Karim and Swapan went for fishing. Rasul Ahmed Majumder, local councilor of Parshuram municipality, informed the police that their bodies were found at the spot in the morning. Later after a flag meeting between the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), two bodies were handed over to police.
ASP Nishan Chakma of Feni’s Chagalnaiya-Parashuram circle said there were no signs of injuries on the bodies of the dead. A basket with fish and an umbrella fell on the spot.
According to the locals, the initial investigation suggests that they were killed by lightning. Even then the bodies of the two brothers will be autopsied to ascertain the exact cause of death.
