Legendary Bangladeshi playback singer Andrew Kishore has recently been diagnosed with cancer. He had an adrenal gland tumour in his body, which later formed into cancer.
Andrew went to the Singapore General Hospital along with his wife, and singer Jahangir Sayeed on September 9 for his primary checkup. Their initial plan was to return to Dhaka within three to four days after the checkup was done. That plan has changed now, and Andrew needs to go through 18 sessions of chemotherapy.
Jahangir Sayeed said: “The physicians have said he needs to undergo one chemo each week, and one of them is already completed, which leaves 17 more. So he’ll have to stay in Singapore for three straight weeks. I have returned to Dhaka at the moment but will leave again soon.”
Sayeed also said that Andrew had kidney, and hormone related issues which caused his sudden weight loss, and many other health issues. His adrenal gland has also grown bigger than usual. Singapore doctors confirmed that the tumour inside it caused the cancer.
Previously, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave financial assistance to the popular singer, Andrew Kishore on September 8. She handed a cheque of Tk10 lakh to the singer at her residence in Ganabhaban.
